Diagnostics

CYSTOSCOPY

A cystoscopy is a visual examination of the urinary tract to investigate problems. It is done by inserting a narrow tube up the urethra and into the bladder. From that point the doctor will examine the bladder lining and urinary tract for any problems or irregularities.

URODYNAMICS

Urodynamics is a series of tests done to examine how the bladder fills and how it empties. A catheter is inserted into the urethra and through to the bladder. The bladder will be filled with sterile water and how the bladders fills will be observed. After filling the bladder, the patient must urinate and during urination how the bladder empties will be observed. Urodynamics is generally used for patients who have urination and lower urinary tract problems.
